GET A PERSONAL CONSULTATION WITH THE PROS!
We both have years of experience owning, hunting, training, and writing about hunting dogs of all kinds.   Whether pointer, spaniel, flusher, retriever, terrier, or hound, we've owned, trained, hunted, and worked with them all.
Known to hunting dog enthusiasts everywhere, David M. Duffey probably needs no introduction.   For 23 years Dad was Gun Dog Editor for 'Outdoor Life' magazine.   He has authored about a dozen books on hunting and gun dog training, and over the past 50 years has written for MANY outdoor and hunting magazines.   Although officially 'retired' from professional training, he still writes regularly for several publications.   At age 70+, his kennel still contains a dozen or more gun dogs of different breeds.   He spends most of his time pursuing wild birds with them in the fall and enjoys more dog work on licensed game farms during the off-season.   (And he still has a hard time passing up the thrill and challenge of a new puppy!)
Naturally as his son, I grew up surrounded by hunting dogs, and as a youngster helped him train a variety of different gun dogs that always filled our kennel.   I first trained my very own hunting dog (a female black lab) at the age of 12, and started training professionally at the age of 15.   While pursuing my college degree in Biology and Animal Behavior, I trained dogs professionally near Spokane, Washington in the early 1970's.   Later I became a Senior Judge and Clinic Leader for NAVHDA, the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association.   I've written articles on gun dog training, raised German Wirehairs, and successfully competed in NSTRA trials and State and National 'Pheasant' and 'Partridge' Championships - one year winning BOTH the Flusher and Pointer divisions of the U.S. Open Pheasant Championship.
Besides training hundreds of different hunting dogs, we both have traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada, putting on training seminars and helping other people train their own gun dogs.
Now we've teamed up to offer personalized, professional assistance over the phone to help you train your favorite Hunting Dog.   Just $10 for up to 15 minutes, could save you years of frustration and disappointment!

We hope you'll find our 'telephone consultation' to be a valuable service, and share this information with others who could use our assistance.   Feel free to print this page and share it with anyone you know who might not have Internet access, but could use some help with their dog.   We also welcome suggestions on how we could improve this service.
Dad doesn't own a computer, but I can be reached via email at:   mkd@athenet.net   for quick questions on this service, but will NOT have time to answer training questions via email.   If there's enough interest, we may eventually offer Dad's past articles or books, a 'Q & A' session, or 'chat room' ??????????   But right now I'm having a hard enough time dragging him (kicking and screaming) into the 21st century with this webpage.   We're also considering compiling a database to put people in touch who are looking to find, buy, or sell, hunting dogs and related services.
