Gardner Dam Camp

Established 1932

Gardner Dam - Winter Aerial Shots in the 1940's

(Above) Buildings in this picture that are not around today are from bottom to top: Middle Miner (in between Little Miner and Big Miner), First Aid Lodge (just to the left of Gibson HA Center), Horse barn (in between First Aid Lodge and Gibson HA Center), Old Dinning Hall (building to the right and up a bit). If you look on the West side of the Wolf River, you will see a series of small buildings that were used for eating.

(Above) A winter view of Gardner Dam from the South. GDC is at the very top of the picture. The long set of rapids you see in the photo is Garfield Rapids. Some call it Boy Scout Rapids today.

Big Miner when it was new in 1938 and built for only $1,200.00!

When the B.S.A. waterfront was right in the Wolf River! You can see the first wooden bridge built for the scout camp.

We hope the time it took to download all these pictures was worth it for you. These and other pictures can be seen as a major display at the entrance to camp.
